1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PDFChop ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PDFChop provides online tools for processing PDF files, including compression, merging, splitting, converting, editing, and signing. Most tools operate entirely in your web browser. Some tools require server-side processing for document format conversions.

3. Free and Paid Plans

Free Plan

The Free plan allows up to 5 tasks per day with a maximum file size of 100 MB per file. No account or signup is required. The Free plan does not include batch processing.

Pro Plan

The Pro plan is available at $2/month or $19/year and includes unlimited tasks, a maximum file size of 250 MB, batch processing of up to 20 files at once, priority processing, and email support. Pro subscriptions are billed through Paddle and can be canceled at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PDFChop to:

  • Upload, process, or distribute any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Process files that you do not have the right to modify or distribute, including copyrighted material you do not own or have permission to use.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms.

5. File Processing and Quality

PDFChop provides file processing tools on an "as is" basis. While we strive for high-quality output, we do not guarantee that processed files will be free of errors or that formatting will be perfectly preserved in all cases. Results may vary depending on the complexity of the source document.

You are solely responsible for verifying the quality and accuracy of processed files before relying on them. We recommend keeping a copy of your original files before processing.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFChop and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or files during processing.
  • Errors or inaccuracies in converted or processed documents.
  • Inability to access the Service due to downtime or technical issues.
  • Any damages arising from unauthorized access to your account.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the files you upload and process through PDFChop. We do not claim any ownership over your content. The PDFChop name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property and may not be used without permission.

9. Refund Policy

Pro subscriptions can be canceled at any time. You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. Refunds may be issued on a case-by-case basis for billing errors or technical issues that prevented use of the Service. Please contact us to request a refund.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
